Man arrested for possession of stolen copper
The Rabie Ridge SAPS arrested a 30-year-old man for being found in possession of suspected stolen copper cables.
The suspect was arrested in an open veld next to Austin View on Friday last week.
According to the Rabie Ridge SAPS spokesperson, Constable Jacob Nhlongo, the police were patrolling the open veld when they noticed the suspect, who was carrying the suspected stolen copper cables.
“It is believed the suspect was on his way to a scrap yard to sell the copper cables. The suspect was arrested and detained at the Rabie Ridge SAPS,” he added.
He is expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon.
