Suspect on the run after killing taxi owner
A 61-year-old taxi owner was shot and killed in Welamlambo section in Tembisa on Thursday.
It is alleged that a suspect arrived at the taxi owner’s business at about 9:45pm.
It is also claimed that the suspect bought a beer and sat down. When the suspect saw the businessman, he produced a firearm and shot the victim several times.
The suspect fled the scene after the shooting.
The Tembisa SAPS Cluster spokesperson, Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha, said a case of murder was opened at the Tembisa SAPS.
“We are appealing to members of the community with information to contact the nearest police station or phone the emergency number, 08600 1011. Residents can also SMS information to 32211. Your identity will not be revealed,” he said.
