Ke Dezember boss – Red Bull Kas’Lami promises to ignite Tembisa this December

Red Bull Kas’Lami will ignite Tembisa in a festival of music, dance, art, fashion and culture this December.

In the main event on December 7, some of Tembisa’s most famous sons will share the stage with other big-name artists.

The line-up includes Black Coffee, Shimza and Black Motion.

A community is often responsible for shaping the minds of the citizens who reside within its borders. From December 4, in a celebration of art, music and culture, Red Bull Kas’Lami Tembisa will highlight the talent that abounds in the township itself.

Over the course of four days, Tembisans will have the chance to experience various cultural events in their community.

On Sunday, December 7, a one-day festival will take place at Moriting Park, as a celebration of Tembisa to honour the community that has helped shape many successful performers, musicians and artists over the years.

DJ Shimza, a proud Tembisan himself, is joined by the likes of Black Coffee, Black Motion, Sibot & Toyota, BoyznBucks and Drumetic Boyz on December 7.

Dance is also an integral part of the Tembisa cultural landscape.

Current Red Bull Beat Battle champions Freeze Frame will feature in the line-up, as will The Prophelaz, having won the competition in 2013.

The Prophelaz hail from the township and will showcase their infectious style of iSbhujwa to their home crowd.

“Tembisa is our home. We’re really excited to be able to perform for Tembisa, in Tembisa, on such a big stage,” said Katlego Mphahlele, of The Prophelaz.

“From early on, the community supported us, when we were still having battles on the street. They would rather have us dancing than get into drugs and alcohol. Because of that support, we’ve been able to travel the world through dancing and we’re just so happy to be making Tembisa proud.”

Tickets for the December 7 music festival are R70 and available at Computicket.
