GLEN Erasmia Boulevard Home Owners Association has given its full support into the attack on a teenager in the estate in November.The chairman of the board of directors, Matthew Campbell, has issued a statement on Monday in which the estate gave its standpoint regarding the incident, as well as the actions being taken to support the youngster and his parents in seeking legal recourse as a result of the incident.
This incident apparently took place by extension of attending a private party at a resident’s property within Glen Erasmia Boulevard.
Campbell said: “We do not in any way condone, accept or tolerate such actions involving violence, bullying and any form of intimidation within the confines of the estate walls, irrespective of the perpetrators and or victims being residents or non-residents of the estate. The estate prides itself on being a safe haven for families and children to reside and play in. This is a position we clearly wish to maintain and will do everything within the construct of our estate rules to facilitate this.
“While the board and residents of Glen Erasmia Boulevard cannot take any action directly as a result of the alleged attack, as the incident involved residents and visitors, conclusive action has been taken to provide evidentiary proof of access and egress to the estate, and where possible, video evidence to the area where said attack on the youngster was effected.
“A full investigation has been carried out with regards to the incident, with information gleaned provided to the parents of the alleged victim, so as to support any criminal charges they wish to pursue against the perpetrators.
“CCTV footage of all persons accessing the estate, with the intent of visiting the property at which the mentioned ‘private party’ was taking place, has been collated. This footage will be released to the parent of the alleged victim with the hope of facilitating the identification of the perpetrators to aid in prosecution.
“Personal particulars of the boys will be handed over to security in order to prevent any future entrance to the estate. The personal particulars of the visitors entering the estate to attend the ‘private party’ have been recorded with the estate’s security firm. These individuals have been declared persona non gratia within the estate and thus will be disallowed access.
“Decisive action was taken against the resident in question, where it was found access controls were flaunted, as well as against the security personnel on duty, who were present at the time the majority of visitors attending the private party entered the estate.”
Campbell said Glen Erasmia Boulevard, its residents, board and management would not condone the behaviour as reflected in the press, and over the social media channels recently. We respect the safety of residents and visitors, and where necessary, will take decisive action to mitigate the risk of, or apply sanction to, any activities which are deemed illegal, be this taking the form of violence, illicit drug usage/possession, criminal activities etc.
