
A son who was not happy with the food his mother gave him, was arrested after assaulting her and his sister on Sunday.
The incident happened at a Karee Street house in Birchleigh at about 10pm.According to Norkem Park SAPS spokesman, Capt Lesibana Molokomme, it is alleged that at about 9.40pm the suspect arrived at home drunk and asked his mother for food.
“Upon being given food, he threw the food on the ground, saying was not fresh. The two started arguing about the food,” explained Molokomme.
It is alleged that during the incident the son slapped his mother, as well as his sister, who tried to intervene. She sustained injuries to her left eye.
Molokomme said police had been called to the scene where the 24-year-old suspect was arrested for assault under domestic violence.
