Casa Caritas receive R11 000 from rugby players

Last year the players made their first ever donations to the Chris Burger Petro Jackson Fund as well as the J9 Foundation

VALKE rugby players handed over a cheque for R11 000 to Casa Caritas last week Tuesday on behalf of The MyPlayers Benevolent Fund.

The fund is the official charity organisation of all professional rugby players in South Africa and is a management company of the South African Rugby Players Association.

A member of the fund said they as professional rugby players in South Africa were fortunate in that they had the opportunity to live out their dreams of playing professional rugby. They decided they had the responsibility as players to give back to those who were less fortunate than them by donating money to charitable causes around the country.

Last year the players made their first ever donations to the Chris Burger Petro Jackson Fund as well as the J9 Foundation.

This year, professional players across all five franchises and provinces in South Africa have all made contributions to charities in their areas chosen by them.
