THE senior public prosecutor has received the docket in the Glen Erasmia teenager assault case.
According to Capt Jethro Mtshali, Kempton Park SAPS spokesman, the senior public prosecutor will now decide on the future of the case.
It is alleged that a 15-year-old teenage boy was assaulted at a “private party” at the estate on November 21. It left him in hospital, including ICU, for almost three days.
The mother of one of the boys allegedly involved in the incident, this week sent Kempton EXPRESS an email, in which she said the story had been taken out of context.
She wrote that before the incident the ‘innocent boy’ liaised with a girl. She told him there was going to be animosity at the party. His response was he was not scared and would bring his karate stick and batons and show these people he would fight. So, he did not walk in not knowing what was going to happen. All this is on BBM, she said.
“A lot of the boys did not know each other. At the party they all greeted each other and started chatting. Then the ‘innocent boy’ arrived. He walked around with his backpack the whole time. He brought alcohol to the party.
“Then the one boy told another boy that a certain group wanted to teach this boy a lesson, as the girl had told them that the ‘innocent boy’ had called her a slut and pushed her down chairs at a previous event.
“My son, that was involved in the fight, said they could not all group up on one boy. He would talk to this boy. They spoke and everyone formed a circle around them. The boy had an attitude and he was only hit once, on his jaw. That was all.
“The ‘innocent boy’ fell onto the grass area and laid there for three to five minutes. No-one hit him with sticks or dragged him around. The boy who hit him once even turned the victim on his side, worrying that if he had a fit he could swallow his tongue. Then someone even helped him up. They have the video.”
She also claimed that the victim’s mother, Isabella Henderson, told her at the police station, if her son told the truth and went for help, she would give him another chance.
“He has told the truth and has an appointment with a psychologist.”
Most of this is being denied by Henderson. She said her son did not use alcohol and the hospital would have picked it up before treating him. He could have been asked to bring alcohol to the party, she said.
Henderson said her son tried to explain to the teenagers that the girl had falsely accused him. He hardly goes anywhere except to school, karate and his girlfriend in Benoni.
“I believe they used the girl’s accusation as a reason why they attacked my son.
“I did tell her at the police station that the lightest punishment I believed her son needed, was to get psychological treatment. I also told her son he would be the only one taking the punishment if he did not tell the truth.
“I said I had an appointment with Brig Marx and would thereafter decide what options I had. I have proof, not only words and stories.”
