Three stolen vehicles recovered at Edleen townhouses

The three vehicles were stolen during three different incidents

THREE stolen cars were recovered at a townhouse complex in Edleen by Norkem Park SAPS on Wednesday.

AT about 4pm, Consts Daniel Ntlemo and Nomsa Mudau were patrolling in sector three when they received a tip off regarding suspicious cars parked at Syringa Mews. On arrival they recovered a dark blue Mercedes C class 55dd, reported robbed from the owner in Sandton in June, a silver grey Touran which was reported stolen in September at Randburg SAPS and a black Golf 6 GTI, which was taken for enquiry,” said the station’s spokesman, Capt Lesibana Molokomme.

No suspects were arrested and police are continuing with investigations.

Anyone with information may contact Detective W/O Kenny Mthembu on 072-767-3756 or 011-391-1814/5.

In another incident earlier the same day, at about 3pm, the Norkem Park Trio Task Team arrested a male suspect in possession of a stolen car and unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

He said police had received a tip off from a member of the public about a suspicious car parked at the Shell garage on the corner of Elgin and De Wiekus roads.

“Upon arrival, police spotted a white Audi A4 with nobody inside. They kept observation on the car and the suspect later made his way to the car and got in. Acting swiftly, police blocked the car before it could move,” he explained.

On searching the suspect, Molokomme said police recovered a 9mm pistol with the number filed off, two live rounds of ammunition and one magazine.

Enquiries on the car revealed that it had been reported stolen by the owner in June at Wierdabrug SAPS.
