A fraudster was arrested after being caught with an ID book that was found to belong to someone living in Limpopo.

The man was caught out after he attempted to purchase goods at an Identity clothing store at Kempton Square on December 8 at about 4pm.

According to Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS, the store manager noticed that the suspect’s ID book looked suspicious.

“She contacted her head office which confirmed that the identity book produced by the suspect was not his, and the original was established to be located in Limpopo,” Mtshali said.

The suspect was arrested on charges of fraud.

“The police would like to thank the vigilant store manager and hope other shop managers and their staff members will also do the same and help curb corrupt activities during this festive season.”
