Man nabbed with illegal guns
Detectives based at the Tembisa SAPS arrested a 38-year-old suspect for possession of illegal firearms in Xubeni Section recently.
According to the Tembisa SAPS Cluster’s communications director, Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha, police officers received information from members of the public about a suspect who had firearms.
The suspect was also connected to house and business robberies in Tembisa.
“Officers proceeded to a house in Xubeni Section where the suspect was staying. When they searched his room, police officers found him in possession of a large haul of suspected stolen property. He was found in possession of two television sets, 19 wrist-watches, two video cameras, one digital camera, 32 rounds of ammunition for a 9mm pistol, a 7.65mm pistol with six rounds of ammunition and a 6.35mm pistol with 35 rounds of ammunition. He was also found in possession of a paintball gun and a firearm safe,” said Capt Ralidzhivha.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon.
