THE Kempton Park crime prevention unit, in conjunction with the Ekurhuleni Metro Police, were busy during the festive season conducting stop and search operations, foot patrols and roadblocks, all in an effort to make the community of Kempton Park safe.
The operations yielded positive results as the following arrests were made:

Assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm: 7
Common assault: 10
Common robbery: 2
Malicious damage to property: 4
Car theft: 1
Shoplifting: 29
Fraud: 11
Attempted theft: 1
Theft: 33
Drugs related: 21
Drunken driving: 18
Crimen Injuria: 1
Housebreaking: 4
Pointing of firearm: 1
Possession of housebreaking implements: 1
Reckless and negligent driving: 4
Illegal immigrants: 11
Possession of suspected stolen goods: 11
Intimidation: 2
Drinking in public: 1
Possession of counterfeit goods: 1
The cluster commander of Tembisa, Maj Gen Vincent Leshabane, wishes to thank all members and units that were involved in these operations to ensure community safety during the festive season and added that such operations would continue.
He further thanks the community for their co-operation as this proves that together police and residents can make the city safe.
