NORKEM Park SAPS experienced an increase in house break-ins and theft during December due to houses that were left unattended while owners were on holiday.
According to spokesman, Capt Lesibana Molokomme Norkem Park police made 82 arrests from December 1 to December 31 last year.Assault: 16

“We request residents to ensure there is always someone looking after their property when they are away. It can be a family member, security company or in the form of a neighbourhood watch in conjunction with the police,” advised Molokomme.
Molokomme said over the holidays there had also been an increase in assault cases, mostly domestic violence while offenders were under the influence of alcohol.
