Video: Would-be hijackers abandon get-away car in Tembisa
An abandoned vehicle was found in Tembisa this morning following a failed hijacking attempt in Moreleta Park.
An abandoned vehicle containing police bulletproof vests, reflector jackets, a blue light and two R5 rifles was recovered in Tembisa this morning after an attempted hijacking in Moreleta Park this morning.
The occupants of a white BMW allegedly tried to hijack a black BMWX5 at about 8am. They fired two shots in their attempt to take the vehicle and then fled.
It was believed the men were posing as police officers when they stopped the the driver of the black BMW X5.
Police recovered the abandoned vehicle in Tembisa shortly afterwards and found the police clothing and firearms inside the vehicle.
