Power grid remains tight: Schedule for Tuesday, February 10

Any unexpected changes could result in load shedding

Eskom has said the risk of load-shedding remains high on Tuesday, especially towards the evening peak.

Eskom spokesperson, Khulu Phasiwe said the power grid will remain vulnerable for the rest of the week.

“This is due to many of our generator units not being back online.”

He said the generator at its Koeberg power station would be taken out for the next three months and was expected to be back online at the end of May.

Should load shedding be introduced, here is the schedule for Tuesday, February 8:

7.30am to 10.30am: Ripple control (geysers are switched off).

10am to 1pm: Glen Marais, Allen Grove, Norkem Park, Birchleigh Extensions and Bonaero Park

12.30pm to 3.30pm: Birch Acres, Terenure, Edleen, Van Riebeeck Park, Kempton West

3pm to 6pm: Bredell, Pomona, Glen Marais Extensions (49, 52, 89 & 98), Serengeti, Brentwood Park, Aston Manor, Nimrod Park, Parts of Kempton Park Ext 2 & Ext 4

5.30pm to 8.30pm: Ripple control (geysers are switched off)

8pm to 10pm: Kempton Park CBD, Kempton Part Extensions, Croydon, Cresslawn, Rhodesfield, Kelvin Estate and Esther Park

REMEMBER: IF YOUR SUBURB IS NOT LISTED HERE, YOU ARE NOT DUE FOR LOAD SHEDDING
