Father and son (5) killed in aircraft crash in Free State

A man and his five-year-old son killed in a light aircraft crash near the R59 near Parys on Saturday afternoon.
Santi Steinmann, Netcare 911 spokesman, said paramedics received the call for assistance at 3.45pm following the crash. Upon arrival they found a light aircraft lying in a field near the R59. A large area was covered with aircraft debris.
Upon assessment they found that the plane had two occupants and that both, a man and young boy, lost their lives during the crash. There was nothing further that paramedics could do for the two occupants.
