More drug dealing on West Street

Sergeant Carien Schultz saw the exchange while she was patrolling last week Thursday

ANOTHER person was arrested on West Street for drug dealing.

This time a 25-year-old man was caught red-handed exchanging drugs with someone else on February 5 at about 2.45pm.

The men were spotted by Sgt Carien Schultz of Kempton SAPS while she was patrolling, spokesman for the police, Capt Jethro Mtshali, said.

“Sgt Schultz stopped and asked to search them,” Mtshali explained.

“One of the suspects was found in possession of about 12 packets (pokes) containing dagga weighing about 10.3 grams.”

He was charged with allegedly dealing in drugs.

Drug dealing, particularly in marijuana, is a huge problem in Kempton. Previous cases include a 34-year-old Glen Marais man busted, also by Schultz and her partner, for growing weed in his backyard in September last year, as well as a man who was arrested at Birch Acres Mall last year for being in possession of over 50 bags of dagga.
