Bidvest uses modern technology to fix metro’s potholes

More than 1 000 potholes have been repaired since the introduction of the programme

MORE than 1 000 potholes have been fixed since the introduction of the partnership between the City of Ekurhuleni and Bidvest Velocity.

Bidvest Velocity, via its corporate social investment (CSI) fund, has been patching potholes across Ekurhuleni probono.

The company uses modern technology to patch potholes – a specialised truck which carries stones and bitumen emulsion separately and then pressurises these materials into potholes to fix them.

The repair work started in December 2014 before the shut down and resumed in February.

Potholes have been fixed in Boksburg, Kempton Park, Bakerton, Welgedacht, KwaThema, Actonville, Wattville, Meadowdale, Tembisa, Thokoza, Alberton and Germiston.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
