Burglars rescued from mob justice in Norkem Park

The four suspects are allegedly linked to various house breaking incidents in Norkem Park

THE police rescued four suspects from mob justice in Norkem Park on Friday.

Norkem Park SAPS spokesman, Capt Lesibana Molokomme, said: “It is alleged that the four were burgling houses in Norkem Park and hid the stolen property in Vusimusi in Tembisa.”

On the day of the arrest, a security guard on duty at a vacant house on Calidon Street, Norkem Park ext 4 spotted the suspects and shouted for help from neighbours.

“Residents came out in their numbers and took the law into their own hands. On arrival at the scene, police found the four suspects had been severely beaten up,” said Molokomme.

The arrested suspects, aged between 22 and 29, will appear in court facing charges of house breaking and theft immediately after their release from hospital, said Molokomme.
