For years we have taken our Scottie for a regular walk through Joan Hunter park. This has become impossible as he gets lost in the grass as well as gets covered in blackjacks.
The benches are an invitation for broken bottles and chicken bones from a local franchise. Every bench has a drum for waste but this means absolutely nothing.
The caretaker says he has reported the situation to the necessary authorities.
We have lived in Croydon for over 30 years.
Deterioration has set in. Never have the roads been in the poor condition they are now. Many of them need resurfacing. Melt Brink Street does not have a street name. This has been down for over five years.
A street light across from our house, which was knocked down by a paper waste collection van about three months ago, now leans at a dangerous angle. This pole is an accident waiting to happen. Someone will be hurt and possibly electrocuted.
Our once beautiful suburb is beginning to look sleazy.

Ekurhuleni Metro parks officials were scheduled to cut the grass February 11.
The leaning pole has been repaired and a new street light luminaire has also been installed.
