All children welcome at toy library
The library believes play is the main activity of a child and that toys, games and puzzles provide a fun and relaxing way to practice skills
TOYS are expensive and parents cannot always buy everything they want.
But there is a way out for parents at Con Amore School in Esther Park.
The school recently opened a toy library which not only caters for children with special needs but all children in Kempton Park.
The library is situated on the premises of the school on Sable Road and is open to the public Monday to Friday from 8am to 1pm, every second Saturday of the month during school terms from 9am to noon and for educators on Wednesdays from 1pm to 2.30pm.
They have an exciting variety of toys for children to assist with early childhood development.
A once-off registration fee of R80 a family a year is required to use the toy library.
The library also believes play is the main activity of a child and that toys, games and puzzles provide a fun and relaxing way to practice skills and teach children life skills such as concentration and perseverance.
It also helps develop small and large muscle co-ordination and listening skills are is stimulated and encouraged.
This project is a service to the community and is available to everyone, not only children with special needs.
