Another Post Office strike looms as employees embark on go-slow

The union says it has served notice of the planned go slow

POST office employee who are members of the Communications Workers Union (CWU) will embark on a go-slow from Thursday.

According to Eyewitness News it is the latest disruption to hit the Post Office in the wake of last year’s three-month long strike by staff demanding a 15 per cent salary hike and permanent posts.

The union says it has served notice of the planned go slow.

The CWU’s Clyde Mervin says they will hold meetings in all nine provinces in the coming week to decide on a mandate for a full-on strike.

“Once we get out of these imbizos we will give the company the date of our action in terms of the phase two process.”
