Bloemfontein teen arrested for cutting off puppy’s ears

The dog was confiscated and is now receiving medical attention

A 14-year-old Bloemfontein boy has been arrested for allegedly cutting off a dog’s ears and attempting to saw off its tail.

According to Netwerk24 the boy’s sister came upon the scene and rushed to Bloemfontein SPCA. A senior inspector accompanied her back to the house, where they found the badly injured animal.

Both its ears had been cut off with wire. The tail was cut in two places – almost sawn through in one area, while the other area was cut to the bone.

The inspector said the dog howled in pain when she touched it.

The boy ran away but was later found and arrested.

The dog was confiscated and is now receiving medical attention.

The boy apparently took the dog from his grandfather’s business premises.
