A gardener was shot in his upper body in the early hours of Friday morning when four men charged into his room at a complex on Tinus de Jongh Street, Birchleigh.
Norkem Park police spokesman, Capt Lesibana Molokomme, said it was not yet known what the men wanted and whether they had taken anything as investigations were underway.
The man knocked at his employers’ door after being shot and was rushed to Arwyp. He was later transferred to Tembisa Hospital in a stable condition, Molokomme said.
A case of attempted murder had been opened and police request anyone with information to contact Molokomme on 011 391 1814 or 079 694 6376.
