According to the Ivory Park SAPS communications officer, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela, a white VW Golf with the registration number VGL 713 GP, was hijacked in Dlamini Drive, Ivory Park Extension 6, during the night.
“According to the victim, he was about to turn left at a yield sign. He had stopped and his window was open. He was approached by two men who pulled him out of the driver’s seat. The suspects put the victim into the back of the car and drove off with him. The victim was eventually dropped off next to the Pick n Pay at Swazi Inn. The vehicle has not yet been recovered,” she said.
W/O Sekgobela added that on the same night, a silver VW Polo Vivo, with the registration number NV 28427, was also hijacked.
“It is believed the driver and his girlfriend were busy arguing outside the car in Republic Road near Ebony Park. Three suspects arrived in a grey Polo Vivo. They threatened the victims with a firearm and instructed the owner to get into his car. The suspects drove around with the victim before dropping him off in Tswelopele. They then fled with the car, which has not yet been recovered,” she added.
