Isando man arrested for possession of illegal bullets

He was arrested by patrolling members of the Railway Police Unit

AN Isando man should have known better than to walk around carrying 17 bullets but no firearm licence.

The 20-year-old was arrested on March 10 at about 9am by members of the Railway Police Unit.

The police were patrolling along Pretoria Road near Isando.

Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesman for Kempton SAPS, explained: “Members of Kempton’s Railway Police Unit were patrolling when they noticed a suspicious person and approached him. When the suspect noticed the officers, he tried to run away but could not meet the speed of the officers and was subsequently caught.”

Upon searching the man about 17 rounds of ammunition were allegedly found in his possession. He will appear in court for possession of ammunition.
