THREE men were convicted of the murder of an elderly Glen Marais couple in the Johannesburg High Court on Tuesday.
Pikkie (75) and Rina Stassen (74) were found stabbed and suffocated to death in their Jacobus Street home on August 19, 2013.
Kenneth Mojela (25), Elphas Thobejane (26) and Thabo Mpha-hlele (28) were convicted of murder. A fourth accused, Howard Sikwati (32), was found guilty on a charge of receiving stolen goods.
Judge Majeke Mabesele said DNA monster taken of Mojela, Thobejane and Mphahlele matched DNA found at the murder scene.
Thobejane and Mphahlele took police to Sikwati’s house after their arrest. There the police found a TV, DVD player and computer belonging to the Stassens.
Mabesele will sentence the men on Thursday.
