JUSTICE prevailed at the Palm Ridge High Court on Monday when a man was found guilty of a 2012 murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.
Tembisan Lucky Brian Mdluli received life imprisonment for murder, 15 years for robbery with aggravating circumstances and a further four years imprisonment for possession of an unlicensed firearm.
On the night of September 13, 2012, the 25-year-old and his accomplice attacked a couple who were sitting in their car on Van Riebeeck Road at about 7.45pm.

According to Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesman for Kempton SAPS, the two held up the couple at gunpoint and demanded their money and cell phones.
“A struggle ensued between the attackers and the victim, which led to Mdluli hitting the deceased with a brick over his head,” Mtshali explained.
The man in his 20s died from his wounds.
“The suspects tried to run but an Alpha Security Officer managed to catch the accused and handed him over to the police who were still on the scene. His accomplice is still at large.
During investigations by Detective W/O Joel Makhura a firearm that was used in the crime was found.”
