A metro police officer was the victim of an assault and armed robbery in his own home.
The officer was ambushed in his Hosptial View, Tembisa home last week Thursday.
According to EMPD spokesman, Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, three robbers entered the victim’s home at about 10pm.

“The officer was pistol-whipped, had his service pistol stolen as well as several of his household electrical appliances taken,” Kgasago explained.
The perpetrators took off in an unknown vehicle and are still at large.
Any information in connection with this crime that can assist the police in apprehending the culprits will be welcomed.
