Woman (29) detained for possession of suspected stolen property

The Ivory Park SAPS arrested a 29-year-old woman for possession of suspected stolen goods.

The arrest occurred on Friday last week, in Kaalfontein, Extension 2, near Ivory Park.

According to the Ivory Park SAPS communications officer, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela, some of the suspected stolen goods belong to a man who was hijacked of his BMW X5 in Daveyton recently.

“Of the stolen items, there was a laptop which was connected to a GPS. This led the owner and the police to the woman who was subsequently arrested. She claimed the goods belong to her boyfriend. Other property found included an amplifier, a silver laptop, a black laptop, speakers and a tablet,” she added.

W/O Sekgobela said the vehicle was recovered on Friday in Kempton Park.

The Ivory Park SAPS is appealing to community members to stop buying stolen goods as they will be arrested for possession of such goods.
