A 56-year-old Birchleigh North man had been arrested after allegedly raping a man he hired as a gardener.
Norkem Park SAPS spokesman, Capt Lesibana Molokomme, said the arrest was made on April 25 at 6pm. The 25-year-old victim had apparently been promised R150 to work as a gardener for a day.
“The victim alleges that on arrival at the suspect’s house, he was taken to the shower and was forcefully raped several times. The matter was reported to Norkem Park SAPS,” explained Molokomme.
In another incident the following day at about 10pm, two police members from the Tembisa Cluster TRT arrested a 24-year-old suspect at the Esselen Park RDP houses in possession of an unlicensed firearm with four live rounds of ammunition.
“The officers received a tip off which they followed up. Upon making an enquiry about the firearm, it was found it had been reported stolen during a house break-in in Midrand in February.
