
NINE suspects were arrested in Norkem Park over the weekend said Norkem Park police spokesman Capt Lesibana Molokomme.
On Saturday at about 8:30am, a 31-year-old male suspect was arrested for arson.
“It is alleged by the suspect’s girlfriend that they had an argument and she ran out the house leaving him in the house at Orange Rivier Drive, Terenure,” explained Molokomme.
“From a distance she then saw the house in flames.”
Molokomme said police and fire fighters were called to the scene and the fire was brought under control.
The estimated damage caused was about R150 000.
The boyfriend was arrested and will appear in Kempton Park Magistrate Court soon, facing a charge of arson.
In other incidents eight suspects were arrested for difference offences, including three for assault grievous bodily harm, one for shoplifting, one for intimidation, one for driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor and one for theft.
