ALPHA Security, together with the Kempton CPF, helped recover a stolen vehicle within 20 minutes on May 8.
The blue VW Polo had been stolen from the parking lot of a Monument Road, Glen Marais business and later found in an open veld on North Street in the same suburb.
According to Dwaine Hansen of Alpha, the car was stolen at about 2.47pm and the Kempton CPF jumped on board to search for the missing vehicle.
“The Crime Prevention Team received a call from a lady informing them that her vehicle had been stolen. It was reported on the Alpha Security Whatsapp group and a member of the public responded that a similar vehicle was stationary on North Road. With armed response back-up and members of the CPF, the vehicle was recovered,” Hansen reported.
It was also reported on the Kempton CPF Facebook page that four male suspects fled in a black BMW.
“One was wearing a white shirt with a black pull over and blue jeans, and one was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. The other two remained in the vehicle. They left in the direction of 7th Road, Glen Marias,” said Amanda Green, the chairperson of the CPF.
A case of car theft was opened at the Kempton Park SAPS.
