‘Law Man’ and friend run in bicycle thief

Two men chased after the thief for almost a kilometre until he was apprehended with the bike

NOT even the two wheels underneath him were fast enough for a bicycle thief to outrun two brave Norkem Park heroes.

Chasing the speeding thief on foot through an open veld, Lawrence MnCube, also known as “Law Man” in the suburb, and his friend, Nkosana, caught up with the culprit after about 1km.

The big chase happened on Saturday, May 16 at 4pm. A woman by the name of Carina was in pursuit of a bike thief who had stolen a bicycle from her yard. She followed him for over 2km until she reached a car wash in Norkem Park Extension Four, where a few friends had gathered to unite in celebration of a friend’s birthday (Nathan Mamogobo).

Screams were heard coming from her car that a man had stolen her bike.

At the same time, the thief casually cycled past the group into a bush leading to Vusimusi in Tembisa.

There was no more road for Carina to pursue the bicycle thief, so without hesitation, the two super heroes went after the man on foot, although he had an unfair advantage as he was on two wheels.

Determined not to come back empty-handed, the two men chased after the thief for almost a kilometre until he was apprehended with the bike.

The man was brought back to the main road where Carina was anxiously waiting with Andy Maboshego, who had been calming her down, assuring her the two men that gave chase would not rest until they got the bike back.

Needless to say, the bike and the thief were brought back.

Carina’s face lit up with an unspeakable joy when she saw the two brave men back safe and unharmed, and even greater joy when she realised they were not empty-handed.

The bike thief was taken by Norkem Park SAPS who happened to be patrolling in the area.
