SAA pilot Jacques van Tonder, who is accused of killing a Boksburg resident in a road rage incident, briefly appeared in Kempton Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning.

Accompanied by his wife and about five or six other people, this was Van Tonder’s first court appearance following his successful bail application on May 7.

The state prosecutor requested that the case be remanded pending further investigations, including an outstanding forensics report.

The request was granted and the case postponed to July 24.

Van Tonder is accused of shooting and killing Louis Jansen van Rensburg during an alleged road rage incident in Bonaero Park.

The 45-year-old husband and father of two previously said he would plead not guilty as he did not intend to murder Jansen van Rensburg on that fateful morning of May 6.
