TWO hijacked vehicles transporting a consignment of cigarettes worth R140 000, were recovered by the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department on Wednesday.
Both vehicles were abandoned by the perpetrators, leaving behind the cigarettes.

Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, metro police spokesman, said the two vehicles were hijacked in Springs shortly before 10am on Wednesday.
On receiving the information, the EMPD Equestrian Unit responded and while driving on Bapsfontein Road, came across one of the hijacked vehicles at 11am.
Doors open and engine idling, the VW Caddy was found abandoned by the perpetrators with its cigarettes consignment untouched, Kgasago said.
The police recovered the other hijacked vehicle on the R25.
