Fitness fanatic (19) climbing ladder to success

Yolandi hopes to open her own business

A 19-year-old fitness and nutrition fanatic from Kempton Park, Yolandi Hardy, is climbing the ladder in the fitness world.

Yolandi entered the Rossi Extreme Body Show held at the Rand Easter Show on April 11 and finished in third place in the toned bikini category and was the youngest in her division.

“My nerves were shot! But I did it,” said Yolandi.

She will be entering the Rossi Grand Prix fitness competition that will take place on May 22 and 23 at the Pretoria State Theatre, and she is aiming to qualify for the 2016 Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic held in Durban.

Yolandi has been training for four years now, two years of lightweight training and two years bodybuilding. Her training programme consists of supersets, interval training, negatives and drop sets.

She is currently studying for her personal trainer certificate, sponsored by Tri-Focus Training Academy.

“Once I have my certificate I would like to train individuals at a gym,” said Yolandi.

Growing up was not easy as she was constantly bullied at school and this had a negative impact on her self-esteem.

Her self confidence has been boosted since joining the fitness world.

“Seeing the transformation that your body goes through is so rewarding. The hard training and diet is so well worth it once you start seeing the results.”

Yolandi has a few plans for the future, like starting her own business “Fitness Empire” which will be an online supplement store, as well as her very own unique fitness clothing line that she aspires to open this year.

Yolandi is currently looking for sponsors or to be a ambassador for your company. You can follow her on all social media networks
