A 29-year-old suspect, who allegedly escaped from custody, was arrested at Krugersdorp on Tuesday.
According to the Tembisa SAPS spokesperson, Constable Zukiswa Mgijima, the suspect escaped from custody during his appearance at the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court in February this year.
“He was attending court on charges of hijacking a motor vehicle and armed robbery. It is claimed he also took cigarettes in an armed robbery.
“A case of escaping from lawful custody was also opened against him,” she said.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon.
