A middle-aged man was found dead, with his body dumped in a sewerage drain behind the Sophia Town Informal Settlement, next to Phomolong, this morning.
The victim’s body was discovered by residents who were crossing next to the drain.
It is believed the victim was beaten and then shot in the upper body.
Members of the Ekurhuleni Emergency Services declared the man dead on the scene.
According to The Tembisan’s journalist, Jantji Ngwenyama who is at the scene, residents are asked to come forward and identify the victim.
The Rabie Ridge SAPS attended to the scene. Members from Germiston Pathology and Forensic Unit took to body to mortuary.
