A 32-year-old man appeared in court on Monday on a charge of the negligent handling of a firearm.
The accused allegedly randomly pointed his gun at people in a pub on Pretoria Road on Saturday night.

According to Kempton police spokesperson, Capt Jethro Mtshali, a member of the police attended to a complaint at 45 Pretoria Road on May 30 at 12.40am.
“The officer had received a complaint about a man allegedly pointing his firearm at people in the pub. The officer was given a description of the man and upon arrival at the pub, police found a firearm in the kitchen. The suspect was later traced and found at the pub and arrested,” Mtshali said.
Mtshali confirmed the man’s firearm was a Norinco 9Y 19mm with eight live rounds and magazine.
His firearm was seized by police.
