
Tembisa cluster police and the Ekurhuleni Metro police conducted several roadblocks and stop-and-searches along the main thoroughfares in the cluster over the weekend.
Norkem Park SAPS spokesman Capt Lesibana Molokomme said 34 people were arrested for drunk driving and 15 traffic fines were issued to motorists during the roadblocks.

Other arrests included 6 x possession of dagga, 8 x illegal immigrants, 3 x house breaking and theft, 1 x possession of drugs, 1 x dealing in drugs, 2 x selling liquor without a permit, 2 x malicious damage to property, 3 x theft of firearm, 2 x drinking in public, 3 x drunkenness, 3 x possession of suspected stolen properties, 3 x shoplifting, 7 x assault, 1 x rape, 2 x fraud, 1 x trespassing and 6 x possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
