A foetus was found next to the Phomolong sports fields on June 7.
According to some of the residents, several children were walking to the sports fields when they made the discovery.
One community member, who wished to remain anonymous, said the children called for help.
When the adults arrived, they found a legless foetus.
The Rabie Ridge SAPS and Germiston Pathology and Forensic Unit attended to the scene.
“We don’t have any information at the moment. If anyone knows of, or suspects somebody was pregnant and suddenly they are not, please come forward with the information,” said Captain Manydza Ralidzivha.
