Police find hijacked vehicle in Cresslawn

Woman arrested for being in possession of stolen property

The combined efforts of the Ekurhuleni Metro Police and Sebenza SAPS led to the recovery of a white Toyota Hilux hijacked in Elsburg on Thursday last week.

The vehicle was located at 5pm on Friday in a yard in Cresslawn, Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, metro police spokesman, said.

Law enforcers found the vehicle in the process of being stripped with its parts transferred to the same model vehicle, also found at the Beech Road premises.

A woman, the owner of the house where the hijacked vehicle was found, was arrested.

The recovered vehicle was taken to Van Rhyn Deep Pound in Benoni. The woman was charged at Sebenza Police Station with possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
