
Two men, aged between 24 and 27, were arrested for allegedly committing a business robbery in Ivory Park Extension 2.
The incident took place last Wednesday.
According to the Ivory Park SAPS communications officer, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela, the victim claimed he was asleep when he woke up to a noise at his tuck shop’s security gate.
“The victim said four suspects entered the tuck shop and pointed a firearm at the shop owner. It is claimed they demanded cash,” she said.
W/O Sekgobela said the victim took an undisclosed amount of cash and gave it to the suspect who was in possession of a firearm.
“It is believed the suspects fled the scene in a white Mazda Sting,” she said.
The victim phoned the SAPS and on arriving, he described the suspects’ vehicle.
“While traveling to the Ivory Park SAPS to open a case, the victim spotted the suspects’ vehicle,” said W/O Sekgobela.
The SAPS stopped the suspects’ car and arrested the occupants.
