A chase from Van Riebeeck Park to Birch Acres on Tuesday ended in the arrest of three suspects, while a fourth managed to get away.
Police also confiscated the stolen car they were driving.
Norkem Park SAPS spokesman, Capt Lesibana Molokomme, said police officers were patrolling in Van Riebeeck Park at 10am when they spotted a suspicious-looking car at the corner of Soutpansberg Drive and Maluti Street.

“Sgt Makgabo Molele and Const Marcus Nkhumeleni saw a white Kia Sportage with four men. Upon trying to stop the car, the driver accelerated,” explained Molokomme.
Molokomme said a chase started and back-up was called.
“During the chase, crossfire ensued between the suspects and the police. The suspects were cornered on Boxwood Street, Birch Acres. The fourth suspect managed to escape,” he added.
No police officers or suspects were injured during the shoot-out.
The car used by the suspects was found to have been reported stolen in Carltonville earlier this month.
In the stolen car police recovered a crowbar, pick and hand gloves.
“It is suspected they were on their way to commit a crime in the area. No firearms were recovered,” added Molokomme.
The three suspects will face a charge of possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
They will also later appear in Carltonville Magistrate’s Court for car theft.
