Man (27) detained for dealing dagga

They found what was believed to be dagga inside a plastic bag. The plastic bag was hidden inside a black plastic drum.

The Tembisa SAPS arrested a 24-year-old man for allegedly dealing in dagga.

The suspect was arrested in Winnie Mandela on Wednesday last week.

According to the Tembisa SAPS communications officer, Captain Manyadza Ralidzivha, police officers were patrolling the area when they met a man who told them about the suspect.

“He told the police about the man dealing in dagga. He directed them to the suspect’s house. On arrival, the police officers found the suspect and searched his house. They found what was believed to be dagga inside a plastic bag. The plastic bag was hidden inside a black plastic drum,” he said.

Captain Ralidzivha said the suspect was arrested for possession of dagga.

“The dagga weighed 20,1 kilogrammes,” he said.

He thanked members of the community who work with the SAPS to fight crime.
