THE Ekurhuleni metro police recovered more than half of a consignment of animal products which were stolen during a hijacking in Boksburg, in May.
Sixty-one boxes with 10 litre containers in each box were stolen.
Acting on a tip-off on Monday, metro police and the SAPS, with the help of a vehicle tracking company, cornered an LDV carrying 44 boxes of Maxicare, a parasite treatment for livestock, at the T-junction of R25 and R50 in Bapsfontein just before 8pm, metro police spokesman, Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, said.
A Mercedes Benz sedan escorting the LDV was found with one box of the products in its boot.
Apparently the stolen goods were stored in a house in Tembisa until a buyer could be found. The three suspects arrested admitted to have been enroute to Delmas where the buyer was to be met.
