A foreign spaza shop owner was shot and killed while his two co-workers were seriously injured during a business robbery that took place in Tswelopele Extension.
A shootout occurred after three suspects allegedly entered the shop at around 7.30pm on Thursday.
According to the Ivory Park SAPS communications officer, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela, the spaza shop owner was certified dead at the scene while his co-workers were transported to hospital by emergency services.
“The police found live ammunition and two cartridges at the crime scene. It is believed the suspects were all armed. All the victims were shot in the upper bodies,” she said.
W/O Sekgobela said the three suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.
The SAPS is investigating a case of murder, attempted murder and business robbery.
