More disruptions at Allandale Road intersection this weekend
Motorists are warned to keep a look out for these roadworks during this period

Traffic between Johannesburg and Pretoria on the N1 northbound carriageway, particularly in the vicinity of the Allandale Road interchange, will be affected this weekend.
Only one lane will be open through the deviation from about sunrise on Saturday (August 22) to Sunday (August 23) afternoon.
However, five lanes will be available for motorists travelling on the N1 north towards Pretoria, but will be affected by motorists making use of the deviation.
The construction of the new Bridal Veil Road Overpass Bridge south of Allandale Road interchange commenced last year and is part of the Waterfall City development by Attacq Waterfall Investment Company (AWIC). The construction of the bridge is necessary to improve traffic flows in the vicinity of Waterfall City and Allandale Road.
Work has advanced to the point where precast concrete beams are placed across the roadway onto the bridge piers to form the bridge deck.
The placement of beams for the fourth span, over the Allandale off-ramp on the northbound carriageway toward Kyalami and Kempton Park, will be carried out this coming weekend.
The operation requires the use of a 300-ton mobile crane to enable the placement of the beams across the bridge spans. The concrete beams will be transported from the storage location to the site by a number of trucks with lengths varying between 22 and 32 meters prior to commencement of the operation.
The Allandale off-ramp will be temporarily relocated about 300m further along the N1 north over the weekend to provide working space for the placement of the beams on the off-ramp. Operations will continue through daylight hours of Saturday and Sunday until all beams are placed for this span.
Motorists are urged to be patient during this time. Metropolitan traffic police will be in attendance.
Motorists are warned to keep a look out for these roadworks during this period, to reduce speed and obey all traffic signs and instructions given by road marshals and traffic officers. Some delays are to be expected.
SANRAL apologises for any inconvenience that may be caused and thanks road users for their understanding and co-operation.
