According to Kempton police spokesperson, Capt Jethro Mtshali, a case of theft was opened in August after a cellphone went missing during a delivery operation of an Isando courier company.

“It’s alleged an employee of the courier company was caught on CCTV footage taking the cellphone,” Mtshali explained.

The employee was arrested by Mhlaba.

“During questioning, the employee led the investigating officer to the shop owned by the Pakistani man. The missing cellphone, allegedly sold to the shop owner, was found at the store,” added Mtshali.

The employee (29) faces charges of theft and the Pakistani national was charged with buying and receiving suspected stolen property.
