Tutela celebrates their first birthday with ‘kiddies’ party
All the social workers recommitted themselves to the social workers and Tutela pledges
TUTELA celebrated their first birthday, as a re-branded organisation, with a kiddies themed party on September 30.
Tutela, previously known as the Dutch Reformed Church’s Benevolence Board, officially re-branded and changed their name in 2014.
Tutela is the Latin word for serving as a guardian and watching over safeguarding, and is exactly what the organisation aims to do for the community. The birthday celebrations also included a pledge ceremony where the social workers recommitted themselves to the social workers pledge whilst all the workers committed themselves to the Tutela pledge.
Tutela functions as the provincial group office for several NPO’s and faith-based organisations (FBOs) in Gauteng and Mpumalanga. Members of the Tutela group are service delivery organisations rendering Christian based social services to people in need, regardless of race, religion and gender.
The service delivery organisations include seven residential care facilities for the aged (including Herfsland), 12 family care offices (including CMR Kempton Park), two residential child and youth care centres (including Abraham Kriel) and MES.
The Tutela group provided services to 60 705 people on the Highveld during their 2014/15 financial year.
